Arwood Machine, a VulcanForms Company, seeks a Final Quality Control Release Documentation Coordinator for our Newburyport, MA, location.
Job Purpose
The Final Quality Control Release Documentation Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and verifying all quality documentation and inspection records to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a crucial part in the final inspection and release of aerospace components, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and properly archived. Arwood Machine operates in an environmentally controlled, state of the art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Conduct final review of quality documentation, including travelers, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, inspection reports, and test records.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with aerospace industry regulations (AS9100, FAA, EASA, etc.) and customer requirements.
- Verify that inspection processes and test results meet product specifications before release.
- Work closely with inspectors, quality engineers, engineers, and production teams to resolve discrepancies in documentation.
- Maintain and update quality records in compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards.
- Perform final visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace components as required.
- Assist in preparing shipments by ensuring all required documentation is included.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and records.
- Identify and report non-conformances, ensuring proper corrective actions are taken.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace quality control/inspection or a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, such as engineering.
- Strong knowledge of or ability to learn aerospace industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, and NADCAP requirements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and document control software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Preferred proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
- Visual acuity to inspect small components and read detailed documentation
- Must use safety protection when and where required.
