Arwood Machine, a VulcanForms Company seeks a Senior CMM Programmer for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As a Senior CMM Programmer at Arwood Machine, a VulcanForms Company, located in Newburyport, MA, you will demonstrate extensive knowledge of Calypso programming. You will work closely with manufacturing engineering generating CMM programs for the various operations as product goes through from rough to finish product.
Key Accountabilities
- Uses trigonometry tables to calculate dimensions.
- Discusses with Engineering areas requiring process improvements.
- Makes determinations as to which parts require a CMM program.
- Makes determinations as to which dimensions require CMM inspection.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production control to determine priorities.
- Develop and write procedures/work instructions supporting CMM programs.
- Verify Models developed in house and conduct prove-outs .
- Train CMM operators in the operation and minor programming.
- Procure CMM tooling and act as the point of contact for CMM suppliers.
- Assist with day to day functions in the Q.C. Lab as it pertains CMMs.
- Develop inspection plans as needed.
- Assist CMM operators with any CMM issues.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as a CMM Programmer.
- Strong experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso programming
- Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y 14.5.
- Knowledge of machine tools and processes.
- Knowledge of CAD based systems.
- Able to work with 3D models.
