Arwood Machine is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As a Maintenance Technician at Arwood Machine, A VulcanForms Company, Newburyport, MA, you will be assigned to a variety of areas to support our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You may troubleshoot mechanical machine failures by disassembly and inspection of machine components. You may be part of manufacturing maintenance and/or shipping and receiving. The role is dependent on the existing and growing business needs. Arwood Machine operates in an environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices.
Key Accountabilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical machine failures by disassembly and inspection of Machine components.
- Install, repair, overhaul and maintain electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems on manual and CNC machinery equipment.
- Utilize technical documentation (prints, manuals, specifications, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting.
- Perform preventive maintenance for facilities, industrial equipment, and machinery.
- Dismantle equipment and machinery to identify, remove repair, and/ or replace damage or deteriorated components and reassemble equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand power tools commonly used in the electrical, electronic, metal working and mechanical trades.
- Solid understanding of OSHA Lockout Tagout Standard and Procedure.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience supporting machine maintenance.
- Experience with shipping and receiving.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing facilities.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
- Must use safety protection when and where required.
