VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Senior Production Readiness Engineer for our Devens, MA location.

Job Purpose

The Senior Production Readiness Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and quality of opto-mechanical systems and processes. This position involves developing and executing validation plans, leading the design and implementation of manufacturing tools and fixtures, and stabilizing the supply chain through comprehensive vendor qualification and risk assessments. The engineer will translate design requirements into actionable manufacturing processes, leverage lean principles to drive continuous improvement, and collaborate closely with design teams to optimize product outcomes. With a strong focus on data-driven problem-solving and adherence to quality systems, this role is essential for supporting production documentation and ensuring compliance with cleanroom protocols.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop validation plans for opto-mechanical systems, fixtures, tools, and processes.
  • Lead and collaborate on the design, implementation, validation, and support of manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tools, and processes.
  • Stabilize the supply chain by creating vendor qualification plans, qualifying vendors, and conducting supply chain risk assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and support production documentation, including manufacturing procedures, job travelers, and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Utilize data-driven root cause analysis and corrective action tools to support business goals and objectives.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to enhance process capability, reduce costs, and increase capacity.
  • Translate design requirements into process and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate test results into improved designs.
  • Support CAPA/NCR investigations and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Proficient in process design, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and SPC tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering responsibilities, including experiment execution, design, and setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Opto-mechanical design for cleanroom environments
  • Familiarity with class 1000 cleanrooms and knowledge of cleanroom protocols.
