VulcanForms Inc. seeks an Optical Test Engineer for our Devens, MA location.

As an Optical Test Engineer at our VulcanForms, Inc., Devens, MA, location, your main objective will be to help our Optical team build and test high power beam delivery systems for the world's most productive and advanced metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) systems. This role is will work on our OMS and optic boxes. This role will play a key part in analyzing and testing results within our optical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support design team in optical test development, execution, and presentation of test results
• Analyze test results with methods of statistical analysis
• Report on status, development, and results of optical testing to key stakeholders
• Component selection and qualification for execution of test plans

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an optical testing and validation environment
• Experience with high power laser testing, specifically fiber lasers
• Experience designing and conducting test plans
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with high power lasers and optical assemblies
• Understanding of handling optical components in cleanroom environment
• Experience in data analysis and statistics using programs like Minitab, Excel, or other data analysis software

Preferred

• Competence with execution of optical testing protocols
• Experience in designing and fabricating test fixtures or communicating fixturing requirements for test
• Experience automating test setups, specifically automating linear stages and data acquisition
• Experience with automation in languages such as LabView, Python, MATLAB, R
