Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multi-disciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

The Role

As we continue to expand operations, Veev’s field construction division is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to help streamline and improve our job-site operations. The Process Engineer will be responsible for improving the efficiency of our geographically distributed teams by creating new product SOPs, document and improve on existing processes and introduce new processes.

Responsibilities


In this role, the applicant will need to juggle various types of challenges, while demonstrating the ability to be multi disciplinary and flexible while thinking and acting with a sense of ownership and urgency.


  • Study and analyze the field processes - from raw land, through foundation, assembly, and landscaping, all the way to finished home in order to identify areas in need of process improvements.
  • Research, design, develop and document field production processes, monitor implementation and propose continuous improvement projects that can streamline the field operations and reduce costs.
  • Procurement of necessary material and execution/documentation of special processes such as heat treating and galvanization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, design, manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless integration into the field ops teams and help analyze the design from a field ops perspective, to drive simplification and efficiency.
  • Travel between various job sites, the factory, and various vendors, as required.
  • Specify new processes, tools and machinery (Cranes, earthmovers, hand held tools, drilling equipment etc.). to improve field operations
  • Manage time studies and implement data-driven process improvements from the learnings
  • Work independently with minimal oversight


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years experience as a Process Engineer in a factory or field environment.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals
  • Proficient in 3D CAD Software (Solidworks preferred).
  • Desire to work on the future of housing and construction.
  • Comfortable working with hand/power tools in a construction-site environment
  • Proficient in reading construction and manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong technical background in product development and manufacturing processes
  • Background in modular construction and/or heavy machinery is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $100,000 - $120,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
