We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Driver team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and optimizing the driver –a key communication and resource management library for our cutting-edge devices. This driver serves as the backbone for efficient device operation, interfacing with both hardware and higher-level software systems. As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and robust performance.

This role is on-site, based out of Belgrade, Serbia.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on the software layer that abstracts chip details and provides APIs to communicate to Tenstorrent devices.
  • Define, analyze, benchmark and optimize for performance APIs to access Tenstorrent devices
  • Design components for resource management and offer robust user experience
  • Contribute, develop and optimize drivers for Tenstorrent AI chips and various chip simulation and emulation tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software integration challenges.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure the driver meets performance, reliability, and usability requirements.
  • Contribute to documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and best practices for driver use and integration.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in driver development (e.g., C, C++, Rust).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to performance optimization.
  • Experience with bare-metal programming, OS kernel development, or device drivers, with a strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces.
  • Familiarity with low-level system programming, resource management, and communication protocols.
