About the Job:

Peak Energy is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Product Engineer to join the Cell team. The right individual will be highly collaborative and adept at gathering and communicating information from internal (product, engineering) and external (customer) stakeholders to triage supplier issues and support Peak with advancing our Cell initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand current cell characteristics in relation to the requirements provided to our suppliers.
• Effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues with cells.
• Identify program certifications for cell and system.
• Own internal cell development roadmap and product requirement.
• Partner with Supply Chain org to ensure supplier quality.
• Effectively communicate requirements and issues to suppliers.
• Proactively identify issues and assist in testing and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support to the ESS and Product teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with cells within the battery manufacturing industry or a related field.
• Exceptional understanding of the product lifecycle and product launches.
• Strong understanding of electrochemical systems and battery cell manufacturing processes. Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to identify and address process inefficiencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
• High level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD preferred
• Experience launching cell products from conception through commercialization
• Hands on experience developing Dry electrode processes.
• Experience with sodium ion, dry electrode, next gen cell technologies.
• Experience using six sigma methodologies in development and production environments
