We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience.

About the Job:

Peak Energy is looking for a System Integration and Test Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and lead our testing and functional verification efforts for our energy storage systems, from batteries to power electronics. This role will work closely with design and simulation teams to understand needs, develop procedures, set up and run and ultimately report on appropriate tests. Through testing, you will play a key role in informing the design direction of the product. This person is a self-starter who is hungry for knowledge and holds themselves and others to high standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct comprehensive testing of functional, high voltage and thermal systems for aspects across our energy storage systems
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and procedures across systems, from electrical to mechanical systems
  • Spearhead the design and acquisition of testing infrastructure from mechanical to software
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design integrity and improvements.
  • Analyze complex test data, report findings, and drive system enhancements.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical issues during testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team skill enhancement.
  • Drive innovation in testing methodologies and practices.
  • Interface tightly with design, simulation and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisions
  • Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing
  • A great team spirit and get-it-done attitude. No job is too big or too small.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in testing high voltage systems, preferably in power electronics or batteries.
  • In-depth knowledge of HV and thermal systems testing techniques.
  • Interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testing
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High voltage battery and power electronics experience
  • Utility-scale energy storage systems experience
