About the Job:

As a Corporate Development Associate at Peak Energy, you will play a key role in supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives and corporate development activities. You will leverage your experience in consulting or investment banking to conduct financial analysis, develop business cases, cultivate customer relationships, help secure financing opportunities and drive strategic decision-making. In addition, your customer-facing experience will be instrumental in managing relationships with external stakeholders and facilitating binding customer offtake agreements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to help drive Peak’s commercial functions, assess market dynamics and execute strategic projects that align with the company's objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis, to evaluate potential strategic opportunities, including capital raising, partnerships and investment opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases, investment memos, and presentations to support senior management decision-making and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with customers to understand their project pipelines, product needs and preferences and collaborate with internal teams to structure and execute customer offtake agreements.
  • Help support government relations and identify, assess, and secure government grants and incentives to support strategic initiatives and R&D projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, Operations, Engineering and Legal to assess strategic fit, conduct due diligence, and execute strategic transactions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and risks and provide insights to inform strategic planning processes.
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in consulting or investment banking, with a focus on financial analysis, strategic advisory, and transaction execution.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, DCF analysis, LBO modeling).
  • Experience working directly with customers and managing customer relationships, with a demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Knowledge of government grants, incentives, and funding programs, with experience in identifying, applying for, and securing government funding opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
