About the Job:
Peak Energy is looking for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer with expertise in battery manufacturing and process automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and automation solutions to ensure the efficiency, safety, and quality of our battery products.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for battery manufacturing processes, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and other automation technologies, to optimize production and ensure quality.
- Collaborate with Equipment Engineers to integrate automation solutions into the manufacturing equipment, ensuring efficient and precise control of the production process.
- Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for automation and control improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Implement data acquisition systems to collect and analyze data from various stages of battery production, using this information to make informed decisions and drive process improvements.
- Develop and maintain safety systems, such as emergency shutdown procedures and safety interlocks, to ensure a secure working environment.
- Provide support for troubleshooting control system issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure the reliability of automation systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and Maintenance, to ensure that control systems align with production needs and support the scaling of new battery technologies.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs, revisions, and updates. Provide training and manuals for operators and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that control systems adhere to industry and safety standards and any regulatory requirements applicable to the battery manufacturing industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Control Systems, or a related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in controls and automation engineering within battery manufacturing or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI design.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to control systems and automation in battery manufacturing.
