Role Overview

Help develop a new class of robots! We're creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We're applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We're focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a sleepy industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

You will work on the design of custom hardware (like sensors, motor drives, compute) in our cutting-edge robot, from concept to production. This will involve close collaboration with other electrical engineers, as well as our mechanical and software teams. Our team is dedicated to creating exceptional technology through collaboration, rapid iteration, and continuous learning. You will have the opportunity to expand your skills while contributing to an industry-changing product.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, prototype, design, test, debug, and oversee production of PCBA hardware
  • Strike the balance between designing custom hardware vs selecting off the shelf components
  • Perform electrical system architecture design including trade-offs, component selection and future design planning
  • Root cause issues, create comprehensive test plans, and develop cycle-based test infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Software and Production teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience taking printed circuit board designs from concept to high volume production
  • Experience designing one or more of: motor drives, smart products, or sensors
  • Fluent in PCBA design software such as Altium and KiCad
  • Able to take ownership of projects and requirements with minimal supervision
  • Experience in C, C++, or Python (preferred)
  • Bachelor"s in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Up to 10% travel (within US) for site visits

165,000 - 175,000 USD per year(South San Francisco)
