About Mytra

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

Role Overview

Mytra’s Systems Engineering Team is looking for a flexible, highly hands-on engineer to support the growth of autonomous mobile robot operations.

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll work hands-on with new generations of robotics hardware. You’ll apply a deep knowledge of hardware, mechatronics, and software to serve as a primary owner for operational support, issue tracking, analytics, and debugging at scale.

Example Projects

  • Lead complex debugs of electro-mechanical issues. Query logs, interpret sensor data, test wiring, and inspect mechanical parts to find root causes to functional robot issues.
  • Develop processes and methods for debug, triage, and repair. Apply systems knowledge to distill complex triage, debug, and repair tasks into simple, communicable procedures, guiding technical knowledge generation and documentation.
  • Implement robust issue tracking and resolution systems, and leverage that data for hardware analytics and actionable insights.
  • Define requirements and contribute to the implementation of infrastructure that supports operational goals, such as fleet management software, robot self-tests, and over-the-air updating.
  • Train technicians and field engineers in systems knowledge and debugging approaches, including serving as highest-level, hands-on escalation for field operational issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and operations of autonomous systems at scale. Experience with commercial or large-scale research operations, especially in mobile robotics systems, is highly desired.
  • Deep systems experience with autonomous systems. Understanding of dependencies between computers, controllers, networking, buses, actuation, and sensing.
  • Competence with Linux-based operating systems, the UNIX command line, computer networking, disk imaging, and package management.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools and statistical analysis software.
  • Strong hands-on aptitude, with the ability to expertly build and rework electro-mechanical systems. Soldering, crimping, and precision mechanical assembly should be second nature.
  • Availability for infrequent domestic travel (between 0% - 10% annually) to support integration and test activities at customer sites.
  • Uncertainty isn’t scary, you’re willing to realize mistakes and pivot.
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience.

Salary Range / Pay Disclosure

The base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 - $190,000/yr. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the base salary range provided in this posting does not include any bonus, equity, or benefits you may be eligible for.

Benefits Include

  • Competitive compensation + equity grants at a high growth company backed by top tier VCs
  • Medical, dental, 401k, and transit benefits
  • Lively modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build and test phases
  • Lunch provided in the office; we eat and share stories together at the “long” table
  • Flexible hours and flexible PTO

A Final Note

You’re encouraged to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement. We work closely and collaboratively at Mytra - No one takes on projects alone. We seek people who are eager to work together, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.
