This is an exciting time at Enovix! We are looking for experienced candidates to help support our new lithium-ion battery production facility in Penang, Malaysia for commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.

Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Manager role is specific to managing the quality of all commodities and material assemble for Enovix 3D Cells. Reporting to the Head of Quality, this role is responsible in ensuring delivery of safe and reliable material for battery cell assembly into consumers’ hands. This role requires engagement with Design, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams for both products under development and those that have started production. The role includes supporting and assuring our suppliers conform to our quality standards and requirements. Experience in managing Li-ion cell suppliers will be an added value for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Strong engagement with Suppliers, Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement teams throughout the development and deployment of safe and reliable material into Enovix products.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams across all levels and sub-functions and provide all required support and direction when needed.
  • Assess and influence supplier strategy alongside the Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure required standards are in place in the for cell/battery assemblies.
  • Identify and ensure critical requirements are clearly understood and captured in the respective cell specification and contract agreements.
  • Coordinate and conduct new cell supplier qualification, technical audits, follow-up visits and regular supplier assessment and rating as per Enovix standard
  • When needed, provide evidence-based risk assessments for urgent issues and decisions.
  • Assure that suppliers implement robust incoming quality, in-process-quality and outgoing quality controls in their production and their sub-tier supplier sites
  • Establish supplier KPI and Goals and periodical updates and sharing on Supplier Quality Scorecard
  • Facilitate, assess, and investigate all cell supplier change management activities through a robust change management process.
  • Ensure suppliers maintain manufacturing processes that meet Enovix design standards and have a robust Quality System in place, with rigorous controls for critical-to-quality items.
  • Analyze and identify critical processes that affect the safety and reliability of the material, components and ensure there is effective surveillance of the key indicators to assure the quality.
  • Responsible to lead supplier related failure investigations pertaining to material and components assembled; ensure effective investigation and robust corrective and preventive actions are in place. Incorporate lesson learned into future parts design and manufacturing.
  • Provide day-to-day support and work closely with Enovix manufacturing team to investigate issues in production and implement corrective actions to minimize yield losses, thus minimizing risk of field failures due to supplier parts
  • Manage programs increasing supplier capability in line with desired capability having commodity strategy as an input.
  • Manage team of supplier engineers and its commodities, resource planning and standardization Supplier Quality Management across
  • Coaching and guiding all underline reporting team including engineers, technicians and inspectors


Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications MUST
  • Degree/Master’s in science or engineering with a minimum of 5-7 years working experience in the battery, semiconductor or automotive industry.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others to achieve outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-initiator, motivated and able to perform under pressure.
  • Confident to influence and present to senior positions in the company.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and relentlessly drive continuous improvement.
  • Seasoned in quality management particularly in supplier management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.
  • Experienced practitioner of relevant tools and methodologies, such as: FMEAs, Statistical Process Control, 8Ds, 6Sigma, Cost of Quality, Project Management, TQM etc.
  • Sound knowledge in ISO9001/IATF16949/ VDA6.3
