This is an exciting time at Enovix! We are looking for experienced candidates to help support our new lithium-ion battery production facility in Penang, Malaysia for commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.

Job Summary

Enovix is seeking an Electrolyte Engineer to conduct research on the next generations of active materials for use in our high energy density Li-ion batteries . The term ‘Active Materials’ refers to anode, cathode, separator, and electrolyte materials. The candidate will work alongside a talented group of engineers to deliver solutions that enable our technology roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to prepare and evaluate new electrolytes that will deliver high performance batteries with superior safety and performance characteristics.
  • Effectively collaborate with colleagues around the world – in California, India, Korea and Malaysia.
  • New material selection and qualification.
  • Improve methods to rapidly screen candidate materials via short-loop test vehicles for accelerated tests, understand their interactions with other cell components, and predict full cell performance.
  • Effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders


Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or related field with 1+ years industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in synthesis of liquid formulations in an inert environment (glovebox) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrolytes in Li-ion batteries is preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis software like R, Pandas/Numpy/Scipy, JMP, Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent.
  • Experience with use of SQL for database querying.
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods to drive experiment design and conclusions.
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, FMEA and 8D methodologies.
