Position Summary
We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Product Manager who will contribute significantly to the development and continued growth of our advanced cell therapy manufacturing platform.
The primary focus of this position will be to understand user needs with respect to cell therapy manufacturing. The Product Manager will interact with customers, partners, and internal subject matter experts to understand and document their cell therapy manufacturing processes and develop actionable requirements for the engineering, analytical and process development teams. This person will work closely with the technical teams overseeing complex projects and should have a structured methodology for gathering and systemizing customer feedback. The Product Manager will also define product requirements, offerings, services, and pricing for the cell therapy manufacturing platform.
This is a multidisciplinary role responsible for interfacing across many parts of the company (with scientists, researchers, process development, and engineers) to develop the best solutions possible. The successful candidate will be a resident expert in the cell and gene therapy landscape, existing manufacturing platforms, and maintain a pulse into where the industry’s imminent and long term needs lie.

  • Define product requirements, offering, price, promotions, and discounting guidelines for all products and services within the Cellares Cell Therapy Manufacturing Portfolio
  • Develop product development strategies, positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation to enable the commercial teams to be aligned with a cohesive message
  • Drive innovation by create business cases and product requirements for any newly proposed product, services, or business direction
  • Keep current with the Cell & Gene Therapy market needs through customer visits, conferences, and in-depth knowledge of industry needs
  • Maintain competitor profiles, including pricing, positioning, advantages/disadvantages, and marketing activities/strategy
  • Develop strategic market plans for specific segments, including identifying and understanding target customers and their unmet or under-met needs, understand barriers to adoption, and develop methods to address, understanding competitive situation, and develop ways to differentiate our portfolio offerings
  • Prepare and present quarterly Business Reviews to the management team
  • Synthesize a coherent product roadmap based on customer input, business goals, and engineering competencies
  • Work with our early access partners to capture their critical needs
  • Serve as the internal customer and partner advocate with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain awareness of current state of cell & gene therapy (literature and competitive intelligence) and provide critical evaluations on the clinical and commercial viability of cell & gene pipeline
  • Synthesize a coherent product roadmap based on customer input, business goals, and engineering competencies
  • Drive differentiated solutions to the market through customer focus, data-driven decision making, and clear, frequent, and open cross-functional communication
  • Maintain company’s credibility by being on leading edge on the state of science and shifts in clinical and treatment paradigms
  • Identify, track, and communicate cell & gene therapy market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape, and find opportunities for increasing customer and business value through differentiated cell & gene solutions


  • Bachelor degree or higher in Biological Sciences
  • 2+ years of extensive, hands-on Product Management experience in the biotechnology or medical device industries
  • Experience with large scale automation and benchtop instrumentation in pharma/biotech is highly desirable
  • Domain expertise in cell therapies is required
  • In depth understanding of human TCell biology, immunology, and cell culture is required
  • Domain expertise in biologics manufacturing highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, creative, self-motivated, flexible to work in a small company environment and assume a wide variety of tasks
